Joel Lamstein Receives Boston CEO Social Leadership Award

World Education President Joel Lamstein has been chosen as the recipient of the 2009 CEO Social Leadership Award, a program funded by the Lewis Family Foundation and given by the Boston Business Journal. The award comes with a $25,000 donation to be used for a social initiative.

"Joel Lamstein embodies the CEO who completely walks the talk around social responsibility," said George Donnelly, editor of the Boston Business Journal and a member of the CEO Social Leadership Award selection committee. Lamstein, who is also the founder and President of John Snow, Inc., a public health consulting firm, was selected for his commitment to both local and global social issues. Of particular note in the nomination was his support of Boston Partners in Education, a nonprofit that provides Boston Public School children with one-on-one volunteer support.

Lamstein was honored at the Boston Business Journal's annual Corporate Citizenship Summit on September 11, 2009. Prior to the Summit, New England Cable News interviewed Joel. Watch the video about Joel and JSI. (Please be aware, NECN runs a 28-second advertisement before the video launches.)
