The National College Transition Network (NCTN) at World Education, Inc. strengthens policy and practice that prepares nontraditional learners, such as veterans, dislocated workers, and under and unemployed adults for college and careers. The NCTN provides technical assistance and professional development services to community college systems and adult education programs to design models for accelerated career pathways, comprehensive student support services, and engagement with the workforce system. A central part of our work is to organize the annual national Effective Transitions in Adult Education Conference.
The Effective Transitions Conference is held every year and is geared toward adult education, workforce development, and postsecondary educators, advisors, and administrators. Learn from experts, collaborate with your peers, and share an innovative and effective practice, strategy, and policy aimed at strengthening adult education’s capacity to ensure that adult learners have access to and success in the college, occupational training, and the career they need to earn a family-sustaining wage.
Among the workshop themes are: foundational skills, acceleration strategies, career pathways and workforce development, collaborations and partnerships, college and career readiness standards, English for Speakers of Other Languages, correctional education, advising and comprehensive support services, and technology integration.
