As director of strategic initiatives for the EdTech Center @ World Education, Alison Ascher Webber develops and directs projects that advance digital equity and leverage technology to increase the reach and benefits of education, workforce, and humanitarian projects. Alison co-leads Digital US, a national initiative to close digital skills gaps, and leads the Equity in MLearning initiative for immigrants and refugees. Since joining World Education in 2017, Alison has advised digital learning and ICT4D initiatives including the National Immigration Forum, UNESCO, the Employment Technology Fund, and California Labor Federation. Previous roles include education director at mLearning company Cell-Ed and associate director at Avasant Foundation. Alison was the first executive director of the Leadership Training & Education Fund for janitors across California and helped form the award-winning Building Skills Partnership. Alison has an MA in education from U.C. Berkeley and a BA in cultural anthropology from Williams College.
