Cell-Ed Works was a chosen winner of the $1 Billion Wage Gain Challenge for presenting an end-to-end mobile solution that will provide skill building, career coaching and job placement services for low-income workers. Cell-Ed Works is a mobile-first collaboration between the EdTech Center @ World Education, Cell-Ed, WorkBay, and Wizenoze, and shares the challenge award with the Economic Mobility Exchange (EMPath).

The $1 Billion Wage Gain Challenge received more than 90 entries that presented ideas to raise the annual wages of at least 100,000 workers by the end of 2021 for a total impact of $1 billion.

The challenge was supported by JFF, a national nonprofit that drives transformation in the American workforce and education systems, and Schmidt Futures, a philanthropic initiative that advances society through technology and promotes shared prosperity.

The team of Cell-Ed, World Education, and WorkBay presented their winning solution alongside six other finalists at the ASU GSV X Summit, an international conference focused on education, workforce, and technology.
