The Change Agent: Adult ed students share perspectives through story
February 1st, 2021 | News
The Change Agent, World Education’s biannual social justice magazine for adult educators and learners, was featured in The Keene Sentinel for providing an outlet for adult learner writing throughout the pandemic.
The Keene Sentinel highlights the writing of Aggie Cersosimo, one of three English students at Keene Community Education whose writing was accepted for the March 2021 issue of The Change Agent. Cersosimo, who moved to the U.S. nine years ago, says of her writing:
“It was a great experience, especially writing in a second language, and being distinguished for something that you’re not doing in your native language.”
The Change Agent features writings by adult learners and inspires adult educators and learners to make civic participation and social justice part of their teaching and learning. Published by the New England Literacy Resource Center (NELRC) at World Education, each issue explores a different topic through student writing, news articles, opinion pieces, classroom activities, poems, graphics, and cartoons.
