JSI and World Education, Inc., are inspired to be part of the Coalition for Racial & Ethnic Equity in Development (CREED) by signing the Racial & Ethnic Equity (REE) pledge. Our staff and leadership join a collective of international development and humanitarian assistance organizations in keeping REE as a guide to complement our internal equity, diversity, and inclusion action plan.
The pillars of the REE pledge include policies and systems, people, leadership and organizational structure, organizational culture, accountability, and communications and transparency.
“We are proud to join the Coalition for Racial & Ethnic Equity in Development. We see it as a way to connect and collaborate with our peers and hold ourselves accountable on our journey toward greater equity both in our workplace and in our work,” says Margaret Crotty, JSI/WEI CEO and president.
We will engage with CREED to build internal and external awareness of institutional racism and white privilege, and to address the education and health inequities they cause in the United States and around the world. This pledge reinforces our ongoing commitment to examine our policies, systems, and culture as we establish organizational standards that reflect not just our words, but the way we work.
World Education strives to build lasting relationships with partners across diverse geographic regions and technical sectors to produce better education outcomes for all.
