World Education Technology Innovations Featured

World Education is pleased to announce our innovative EdTech initiatives in Eswatini and Mozambique have been featured in a recent EdTech Hub Report: Using EdTech to Support Effective Data Monitoring.

Our Bantwana Initiative Go Girls Connect! Program leverages mobile-based technology to build digital competency and empower girls in Eswatini with critical life skills, protective assets and resources, and enable them to advocate for their rights while navigating gender norms. It incorporates a digital early warning system for the girls to identify themselves as victims of GBV or at-risk of dropping out of school. These tools are linked to on-the-ground protocols to provide the key services the girls need stay in school and access abuse services.

Also featured was our USAID funded Mozambique Early Grade Reading Project, which aimed to improve reading outcomes for students in grades 1-3 in over 1,000 urban and rural schools. We worked to train teachers in early grade reading instruction and directors in school management practices, developed high-quality reading materials for students and teachers, and designed assessment tools to measure improvements. In addition, we leveraged radio, TV, and smartphones to augment training, coaching, and overall school-community support for reading.
