Effective July 1, 2023, World Education is merging with JSI. The merger is an acknowledgement of the 30-year relationship between the affiliated organizations and will position both to better meet the needs of the communities served. Powell’s experience as a leader at JSI makes her uniquely positioned to manage the increased collaboration and administrative integration that will result from the formal merger.

Her extensive background in program management, global development, and people and talent management will ensure World Education continues to be at the forefront of innovation and impact,” said Margaret Crotty, President and CEO of JSI.
Throughout my career, I have seen the real-world effect that evidence-informed development programs have on individuals and communities. I am humbled to join World Education and look forward to continuing to advance excellence through our programs in the U.S. and around the globe,” said Powell.
Since its founding in 1951, World Education has reduced disparities in education outcomes and strengthened safety net programs through programs to improve the quality of life and increase economic opportunities.
Powell begins her role as Executive Director effective May 2023.
