Mbonisi Tshuma oversees a regional portfolio that includes the CDC/PEPFAR-funded DREAMS program, the UNICEF Spotlight Initiative and Humanitarian Program Fund, and World Bank-funded programming to keep girls in school in Zambia. His previous roles include country director and regional technical advisor for World Education's Bantwana Initiative, and team lead for school-related gender-based violence in Malawi, where he established organizational presence and managed all aspects of implementation. As technical specialist for youth and livelihoods under the USG-funded Children First and Vana Bantwana projects, Mbonisi built the capacity of over 20 implementing partners and laid the groundwork for the Siyakha Girls economic strengthening model endorsed by PEPFAR Technical Guidance for all DREAMS countries. He has an MBA from Marymount California University and a BSc in health education and promotion from the University of Zimbabwe.
