Remote ESOL Project

project image

This project responds to a growing demand by immigrant adults for remote English learning opportunities by documenting and disseminating promising, technology-enabled, remote ESL practices for program design, instruction, and support services. It has identified key considerations for policy and scaling in anticipation of comprehensive immigration reform that is likely to include a language requirement for citizenship. The project products include case studies of eight programs, a paper on Creating Equitable Access to Remote ESOL in Multiple Settings and for Distinct Populations and a policy brief with recommendations and implications for funding, policy, and practice.
