Expanding efforts to reach and support People Living with HIV/AIDS in Ghana
Building from lessons learned and experience gained from EMPower I, EMPower II expands its reach and scope to support new NGOs and support groups who are serving people living with HIV, specifically key populations, including female sex workers or men who have sex with men. Through a participatory approach, EMPower II built capacity of partnering local organizations to better manage their organizations, carry out HIV-prevention activities, and provide stigma-reduction support, as well as on-going support supervision to the support members.
Furthermore, EMPower II scaled-up the EMPower I bulk text messaging campaign to reach at least 21 support groups for people living with HIV and develop regional-level behavior-change communication and anti-sigma campaigns using radio, print and community events.
